Mid-Winter Concert

Tuesday March 19th, 2013, the Wauwatosa Community Band presents Music Spheres, a collection of favorites from Holst’s Mars and Jupiter, to the music of Star Wars and Star Trek. Everyone is invited to attend the 7:30pm performance at Longfellow Middle School auditorium and you are welcome to stay for refreshments after the show!

Tickets are the usual price: Adults $5; Students, Kids, & Seniors $3. Remember to sign up to our newsletter so we can keep you up to date on our upcoming performances and discount specials. Click the “Mailing List” link at the top to register today!

Creepy Cafeteria

Our 5th annual children’s Halloween concert is right around the corner on Tuesday October 30th at 7:00pm. Please join us in the Longfellow Cafeteria. It’s a slight change from our usual location (the stage is unavailable) but we will either have signs posted in halls or guides at the entrances to help you find us. It’s pretty easy to find and is located on the west end of the lower level of the school.

Anyone, any age, receives FREE ADMISSION when you come in costume! Otherwise, adults $5, seniors and students $3.

There will be a variety of classical music with entertainment for the kids including a costume parade, scavenger hunt, and the narrated tale of Peter and the Wolf. Giselle, a hula hoop and mime artist, will also make a special appearance. Refreshments will be served after the concert. (more…)

Fall Rehearsals Have Begun

Welcome back from your summer break! We’re very excited about the season to come. If you weren’t able to make it to the first few rehearsals, by all means, join us this week. A few administrative items… Thank you to Scott Schrank, who was able to procure for us a new arrangement of James Bond tunes which was done by the American Legion band director. Thanks to the volunteer conductors who stepped forward from the ranks to rehearse on September 11th: Scott Schrank, Bev Gross, Katie Wiese, Del Schmidt (our new tubist), and Charlie Marsh. (more…)
