Mid-Winter Concert
Tuesday, March 12th, 2013
Tuesday March 19th, 2013, the Wauwatosa Community Band presents Music Spheres, a collection of favorites from Holst’s Mars and Jupiter, to the music of Star Wars and Star Trek. Everyone is invited to attend the 7:30pm performance at Longfellow Middle School auditorium and you are welcome to stay for refreshments after the show!

- Star Trek, Through The Years arr. by John Moss
- Star Wars, The Marches by John Williams, arr. by Jerry Brubaker
- Is There Any Ragtime On Mars? by Stephen Kent Goodman
- Festive Overture by Dmitri Shostakovich
- Shooting Stars by Richard L. Saucedo

Shooting for the Stars
Monday, January 7th, 2013
Our March concert will feature the Mars and Jupiter movements of Gustav’s Holst’s suite, “The Planets.” There will also be music from both the Star Trek and Star Wars movies, Sousa’s “Transit of Venus March,” and an exciting new composition entitled “Shooting Stars” by Richard Saucedo. To round out the evening, the band will play a transcription of Shostakovich’s Festive Overture. More information will be posted as it is available.

Holiday Concert

The Wauwatosa Community Band presents its holiday concert on Tuesday December 11, 2012 at 7:30pm in the Longfellow Middle School auditorium. You’re invited to come and enjoy a number of holiday favorites including:
- The Nutcracker’s Waltz of the Flowers by Tchaikovsky
- Variants on a Mediaeval Tune by Norman Dello Joio
- A Christmas Flourish by James Curnow
- The Eighth Candle (Prayer and Dance for Hanukkah) by Steve Reisteter
- Secret Agent Santa by Jeff Simmons
- An American Christmas arr. by Robert W. Smith
- Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by J. S. Bach
- Santa Claus Comes to Dixieland arr. by James D. Ployhar
based on Here Comes Santa Claus by Gene Autry and Oakley Haldeman and Santa Claus Is Coming To Town by J. Fred Coots
