Fall Rehearsals Have Begun

Welcome back from your summer break! We’re very excited about the season to come. If you weren’t able to make it to the first few rehearsals, by all means, join us this week. A few administrative items… Thank you to Scott Schrank, who was able to procure for us a new arrangement of James Bond tunes which was done by the American Legion band director. Thanks to the volunteer conductors who stepped forward from the ranks to rehearse on September 11th: Scott Schrank, Bev Gross, Katie Wiese, Del Schmidt (our new tubist), and Charlie Marsh. (more…)

Memorial Day

Our Memorial Day performance is on Monday, May 28th in the Longfellow Middle School auditorium. Donna will be at the school around 8 a.m. to set up chairs & percussion. The band is called for 9 a.m. That’s a “READY TO PLAY” at 9 a.m. call, not a “walk in the door” time. Donna requests you arrive so as much time is possible for running through everything beforehand and you still have time to rest a bit before the 10 a.m. start time.

Titanic – 100 Years
Tuesday, February 28th, 2012
Our midwinter concert is March 13th at 7:30pm in the Longfellow Middle School Auditorium. We are commemorating the 100th anniversary of the fated voyage of the Titanic.
Adults – $5
Children/Seniors – $3
We will be performing selections by Tchaikovsky, Sousa, Joplin, and we will split up into small ensembles as well. (more…)
